You can check your device's Android version number, security update level, and Google Play system level in the Settings app. You will receive a notification when an update becomes available. You can also check to see if an update is available.
To check the Android version
Open the Settings app on your smartphone.
At the bottom of the screen, tap 「System」, then 「Advanced」, then 「System Update」.
Check the 「Android Version」 and 「Security Patch Level」.
Get the latest Android update
When you receive a notification, open the notification and tap the update action.
If you deleted the notification or your device was offline, do the following
Open the Settings app on your smartphone.
At the bottom of the screen, tap 「System」, then 「Advanced」, then 「System Update」
The status of the update will be displayed. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Getting security updates and Google Play system updates
Most system updates and security patches will be downloaded automatically. To check if an update is available, do the following
① Open the Settings app on your device.
② Tap 「Security」.
③ Check if there s an update available.
④ To check if a security update is available, tap 「Security Update」.
⑤ To check if 「Google Play System Update」 is available, tap Google Play System Update.
⑥ Follow the on-screen instructions.
When Android updates will be available
The update schedule varies by device, manufacturer, and mobile carrier.
